Little Hagia Sophia Mosque: Little Hagia Sophia (Kucuk Ayasofya Camii), formerly the Church of the Saints Sergius and Bacchus, is a former Eastern Orthodox church dedicated to Saints Sergius and Bacchus in Constantinople, later converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire. Today the environment is a worth seeing natural culture center of the lost Ottoman Arts. 17:00 PM is the end of the tour, then participants will be transferred back to their hotel and Full Day Byzantine & Ottoman Relics Tour will be ended. Temple Of Artemis

The Temple of Artemis is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It has been built in the area of Ephesus, which has over the centuries turned into swamps. Today one can only see the ruins of the foundations of this incredible construction of the Hellenistic Age, entirely made of marble and full of sculptured columns capitals and shafts.

Some of the most beautiful remaining parts of this temple are today exhibited in the London British Museum. The oldest remaining relics date back to the 6th century BC, when it was surrounded by 36 huge columns, later enlarged upon the orders of the Lydian King, Kreisos, during the 6th century BC. Most of the exhibits in the London British Museum belong to this period.

House of Virgin Mary is a popular place of pilgrimage for Catholics, where it is believed Virgin Mary spent the remainder of her life. Located on top of Bulbul Mountain, it offers visitors a panoramic view over the town.

Isabey Mosque

Isabey Mosque is one of the most delicate examples of Seljukian architecture, situated below the Basilica of Saint John. It was constructed between the years of 1374 and 1375. An inscription from God decorates the doorway.

The mosque was built by the master builder Ali, son of Mushimish al-Damishki. Crown-like doors from the Seljukian architectural style open up to the rest of the Mosque now combined with the decoration elements of Ottoman style. The influential details including the plant motifs and the beautiful marble workmanship with the variety of glazed mosaics create the marvellous atmosphere of Isabey Mosque. Our guide and driver will meet you in your hotel at 08:30am and we will first drive to one of the biggest caravanserais on Silk Road: Sultanhani. We will visit this 13th century monumental caravanserai and our guide will give you information about the Silk Road. Then, we will drive another 1,5 hours to get to Mevlana Museum. Mausoleum of Rumi (in Turkish ‘Mevlana Müzesi’), is a must see destination in Konya and there is the tomb of the famous mystic/sufi/thinker Rumi (known shortly as Mevlana in Turkish, or with the full name Mawlana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi in English literature), as well as the neighboring museum that displays relics of his life and his time. The items on display in the museum range from old manuscripts, hand written copies of the Koran, musical instruments used at Rumi’s time, as well as numerous art works dating from the Seljuk era. After visiting the museum, you will have your lunch in a local restaurant. Finally, we will visit Ince Minareli Medrese (theological school) with its amazing portal gate which is one of the best examples in Turkey. KIZILCUKUR VALLEY: One of the nicest and most beautiful places to go walking in Cappadocia in Red and Rose Valley. The two valleys are next to each other and are easily combined. Start at Sunset point (near Ortahisar) and hike down through the first Red Valley and then continue on the Rose Valley.

CAVUSİN VILLAGE: After our wanderings through Swords and Rose Valleys on our second day in the Goreme area, we arrived in Çavuşin village. It was a lovely quiet village and had some amazing sites to visit. The ‘old’ village, now abandoned, was all carved into the hillside. I’m not really sure how old the settlement is, but it’s definitely been around for a long, long time. All the buildings and churches and homes of the village were within the hill and were probably connected internally via tunnels and such. As we wandered around the ruins and took in the amazing view of the plains and hills stretching all the way to the horizon, I could understand why people living here would want to burrow into the mountains. Basically, if you lived out here in a village in Cappadocia, you were on your own. If raiders or brigands or enemy armies or whatever arrived in the area, there was really no one to help you. It must have been a strange and precarious life, living in such isolation. So, these villages built into the rock must have been much more secure and difficult to attack or raid than if the people just lived in houses on the plain.

KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY: is built under the hill known as the Citadel of Kaymakli and was opened to visitors in 1964. The people of Kaymakli (Enegup in Greek) village have constructed their houses around nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. The inhabitants of the region still use the most convenient places in the tunnels as cellars, storage areas and stables, which they access through their courtyards. The Kaymakli Underground City has low, narrow and sloping passages. While the underground city consists of 8 floors below ground, only 4 of them are open to the public today, in which the spaces are organized around ventilation shafts.

PIGEON VALLEY: Pigeon valley is situated between Goreme and Uchisar and is ideal for walking, as the trek is relatively easy. The name comes from the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into the soft tuff since ancient times. Although they can be found throughout Cappadocia, they are especially numerous in this valley. They were carved wherever space allowed, including abandoned cave houses and churches. In Cappadocia, pigeons have long been a source of food and fertilizer. The advent of chemical fertilizers has reduced the use of pigeon dung. However, some farmers still maintain their lofts because they insist that the reputation of Cappadocian fruits as the sweetest and most succulent in Turkey is entirely due to pigeon dung.
