DAY 01: DHAKA – PINNAWALA – KANDY
Reach Colombo airport. Clear Immigrations, Baggage claim and Customs. Your Local guide will be waiting for you are the airport arrival lounge. Leave towards Kandy. Kandy the last monarchical kingdom of Sri Lanka. A bustling town cradled between towering mountains of lush forest and acres of tea in the central highlands. Kandy is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are a variety of things to do and places to visit in and around Kandy from scenic strolls / Forest Sanctuary and Botanical Gardens to witnessing splendid cultural performances and religious parades. On your way to Kandy lets break the journey in Pinnawala.
Pinnawala: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (PEO) is an orphanage, nursery and breeding ground for nearly 100 elephants. It was founded in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation to care for and protect the orphaned young elephants that were often found wandering around the forests of Sri Lanka. What began with five baby elephants grew into a program that now cares for a herd of more than 90 elephants. After the visit to Pinnawala its time visit a National Spice & Herbal Garden in Mawanella. Gem Museum & Gem Gallery: Throughout history, Sri Lanka has been known as a land of gems. At a Gem Museum you will have a chance to learn about Gems how it’s being mined, cut polished given shapes.
Temple of the sacred Tooth Relic: The royal palace complex of the ancient Kingdom of Kandy, now the Sri Dalada Maligawa (or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) is a Buddhist temple that is home to the tooth relic of Lord Buddha. The city of Kandy was the last great capital of Sri Lanka’s ancient kings, and the presence of the temple is a major reason that the city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The relic that lies within the temple has played a major role in Sri Lanka’s political history, as it was believed that the holder of the relic possessed the right to govern the country.
Traditional Dance Show: Kandyan style dancing is among the most distinctive features associated with the culture. It is an age-old traditional art form that can be a treat to watch when performed. Stimulating evening of dance and music. It is a show that celebrates the traditional arts established long ago during the heyday of the Kandyan Kingdom. Free time for a city Stroll in the city. DAY 02: KANDY – AMBULUWAWA – RAMBODA – N’ELIYA
Breakfast at the hotel, Leave towards your short beach stay. Before you bid farewell to Kandy. Visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya.
Royal Botanical Garden: This was reserved for the exclusive use of Sri Lanka’s ancient Kandyan royalty. But eventually after British colonization, the botanical garden was formally established in 1843 with plants from all over Sri Lanka. There are more than 4000 species of plants that are housed within it, including spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.
Ambuluwawa Tower: 3567 meters above from the sea level and there are 200 plants which belongs to 80 species. We know the climb to the top is a bit tough but then again you know hardest climbs always gives the best views. Some of the best views you can admire from this tower is, from South Sri Pada or Adams Peak, North Mountain range of Knuckles, West Bathalegala or Bible Rock, East Piduruthalagala Mountain.
Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple: It said to be a pond – the ‘Sita Tear Pond’ – was here, which was formed from Sita’s tears. The temple itself is one of the more enterprising establishments devoted to this legend, and contains a granite statue of Lord Hanuman that is said to be over 40 feet tall.It is believed that Lord Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi from these hills of Ramboda. The Ramboda area is believed to be an area where Rama’s forces were gathered against Ravana. Ram Padai means Rama’s Force. The hills of Ramboda is also believed where Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi.

Colonial Tea Factory: Visit a Tea Factory enjoy the tour learn about the process of plucking, processing and packaging tea leaves.
Gregory Lake: Gregory Lake, located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, is a reservoir constructed by British Governor by the name of Sir William Gregory in 1873. Spanning 225 acres, Lake Gregory is the place to go for water activities in Nuwara Eliya, with the park serving as a great spot for picnics. You can find little ponies trotting along on the grass and boats that you could hire to go out on the lake and enjoy some serenity away from the noise. DAY 03: NUWARAELIYA – ELLA – YALA OR TISSAMAHARAMAYA
Breakfast at the hotel, Checkout and leave towards Yala via Ella. On your way we make some interesting stops in Ella.
Nine Arch Bridge: Commissioned under the British in the year 1921, the Nine Arch Bridge stands proudly, a testament to the engineering and architectural brilliance of the early 20th century. Ideally placed between the Ella and Demodara railway station, those choosing to walk along the bridge will be presented with scenes of rolling hills and dense jungle to delight in.
Little Adams Peak: The trail will lead you up to 1141m above sea level although you already begin at a high elevation so you will only hike up a few hundred meters. The trail is marked the whole way with well-maintained paths and stairs to the first set of viewpoints. As you can see below there are multiple platforms, rocks, and viewpoints perfect for photos once you hit the top of Little Adam’s Peak. Although, you can and should keep going along the ridge and the view only gets better. Continue towards Yala. Afternoon Safari at the Yala National Park.
Yala National Park: Easily considered to be one of the more iconic parks in the island, the Yala National Park is the second-largest wildlife park in Sri Lanka and is known for its unique flora and fauna that complements in the sustaining of the island’s unique biodiversity. The park is home to some of the rarest species of animals in the world, however, two mammals take the top spot. Such animals are the Sri Lankan Leopard and the Sloth Bear, both of which are endemic and endangered. While these two animals are indeed highlights, there are many other animals that can also be seen. According to the Department of Wildlife, there are 353 species of animals that includes mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and other invertebrates.

DAY 04: YALA OR TISSAMAHARAMAYA – MIRISSA – GALLE – BEACH
Checkout after breakfast, Leave towards Beruwala or Kosgoda via Mirissa.
Visit the Coconut Tree Hill: A small coconut tree far atop a hillock. The hill has perhaps become the most Instagrammed spot in Mirissa and it’s easy to see why; the whole hill looks over to the gorgeous turquoise ocean and it is covered by tall coconut trees swaying in the sea breeze. At the centre of the peak there is an area of cleared land and this is where you can get that perfect shot of you in a coconut grove with the sparkling Indian Ocean behind you. After the photo stop in Mirissa, Leave towards Gale.
Explore Galle Fort and the Old Town: The Galle Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is arguably the most popular tourist attraction in the city. The fort was built by the Portuguese in 1588, before being fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century. The fort has retained its structure and charm for more than 400 years, and has been hailed as one of the best places to visit in Sri Lanka. DAY 05 – MADU RIVER BOAT SAFARI & BENTOTA TOUR
Enjoy your breakfast buffet at the hotel. You may procced to leave towards Colombo after breakfast.
Turtle Hatchery:Turtle Care programs aims to protect sea turtle eggs and increase hatching rates. These Turtle Care centers not only do hatching, but also treat disabled Turtles and treat the weak ones. Except a study tour of Turtles during your visit to the Turtle Hatchery. For anyone interested are welcome to hold baby Turtles while in Tour.
Madu River Boat Safari: Explore the Bentota Mangrove and its diverse wildlife on a 2-hour river cruise. Hop aboard and cruise along the third largest river in Sri Lanka as you observe water monitor lizards, river birds, and maybe even a rare crocodile in their natural habitats. Spend the day relaxing in nature and exploring these diverse mangroves. Return back to the hotel rest of the day free & easy. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 06: BEACH – COLOBMO
Leave towards Colombo after breakfast.
Colombo: The commercial capital of Sri Lanka; Colombo is a bustling city with a rich history, packed with a plethora of things to do and mesmerizing attractions from city temples to skyrise buildings, verdant parks and national monuments. The city is a potpourri of cultures, religions and races making it the most diverse on the island. City Orientation tour of Colombo.
Independence Square: Independence Memorial Hall is a national monument in Sri Lanka built for commemoration of the independence of Sri Lanka from the British rule with the restoration of full governing responsibility to a Ceylonese-elected legislature on February 4, 1948.
Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct: The Old Dutch Hospital is one of the oldest buildings in the Colombo Fort area, having been built somewhere in the late 17th century by the Dutch. It was constructed in order to manage the health and welfare of staff serving under the Dutch. But NOW the Old Dutch Hospital is an attractive shopping precinct that also houses several enticing dining establishments within its historic walls, including the Ministry of Crab, Colombo Fort Café and Spa Ceylon
Old Galle Buck lighthouse: Old Galle Buck Lighthouse, situated in the centre of the rapidly developing zone of the Colombo Port City. The lighthouse was first opened in 1952, and features stunning views of the Indian Ocean at sunset, set against a backdrop of the urbanized centre of Colombo City. The lighthouse is open to the public all year round, but is perhaps best viewed after 5PM in order to take in the magnificent views.
