South America

South America is primarily in the Southern Hemisphere, with a small portion in the Western Hemisphere. The southern subcontinent of the Americas is another name for it. Due to shifting geopolitical circumstances, the use of South America rather than other regions (such as Latin America or the Southern Cone) has risen in recent decades. The Pacific Ocean borders the continent on the west, the Atlantic Ocean on the north and east, and North America and the Caribbean Sea on the northwest.
