Overview
South Asia houses Nepal, a landlocked country. The Himalayas majorly occupy Nepal. But it also shares borders with Tibet of China to the north and India to the south, east, and west. The Siliguri Corridor narrowly separates it from Bangladesh. Bhutan divides the country from the Indian state of Sikkim. Nepal’s geography is diverse. Consisting of fertile plains, subalpine forested hills, and eight of the world’s ten tallest mountains. This also includes Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. Nepal is a state with multiple ethnicities, languages, religions, and cultures. This is where Nepali serves as the official language. The nation’s capital and the largest city is Kathmandu.
